NMS #10 - Delta Center Cemetery South Mystery Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Tenth cache in the new NMS (No Micros Series). The Lansing area has seen an explosion of micro and nano caches in the year since I moved to the Seattle area. While tiny caches are okay for number runs, there are only so many light poles and pay phones you can stop at before it gets really boring. If you have children, those tiny caches are not the way to get them and keep them enthused about geocaching. I'm back in the Lansing area (for now), and I decided it was time to do something about this. Hence, the NMS was born. Every cache in this series will be a small or larger.

This cache is located within a cemetery. No night caching, please.

To locate this cache you will need to gather some information and calculate the final coordinates. This should be an easy mystery cache to complete. If you have children that can count and recognize numbers, they can help gather the needed information. If they can perform basic math, they might even be able to find the cache all by themselves.

The final is located at N 42 43.ABC W 84 39.DEF, where:

A = Find the canon monument. There is a stack of cannon balls. Count the number of cannon balls in the bottom row of the west side of the stack to get A. (Hint: This should be an odd number).

B = Find the monument with a paragraph of text that starts with "A NATION THAT ..."  Count the number of military branches shown on the same side as the text. Subtract 2 from that number to get B.

C = Go to the other side of the monument used to find B. Count the number of stars that can be seen on the flag that is folded and being held. Add 3 to get C. (Hint: Make sure to count all of the stars, even if they are only partially visible.)

D = Find the flagpole. There will be a number within quotation marks (e.g., "XY"). Divide the first, or leftmost, digit (X) by 2 to get D.

E = Find the columbarium. Count the number of columns on either side to find E. (Hint: The columbarium has a black face on two sides and each face is divided into squares, some of which have names on them.)

F = Find the Memorial Chapel. Add the number of doorknobs on the north side to the number of crosses on doors to get F.

Congratulations to BIGGBYjedi on the FTF!
