beemerdon: I think this one has run away or been taken so I am going to pull the plug on this cache. I hope to have another nearby shortly.

This cache is a log only so bring your own pen; there is no room for trackables or swag. The container was given to me by waybacker74 so this find will be a little harder than my normal hides. In fact, when I was re-checking the coordinates I had a hard time spotting it and I had just placed it, so bring a big bucket of geosense with you to this park.
This cache is located in the Thomas McAllister Winget Park in the Steel Creek area of Charlotte. There are soccer fields, a disc golf course, playgrounds, and an elementary school next door. GZ is near the basketball courts and only a short walk from the parking lot. This would almost be a park and grab except for the container, which blends in well with its surroundings.
I think the land for this park, even tho it was named for the Winget plantation, was donated to the County by the family of Pat Hall, the developer of Carowinds. There is still a lot of land here and I would love to see it become the Idlewild Park of the West! Congratulations to Candcteam for the FTF!!
