Geocache Description:

Was in the area and wanted to show my mom what Geocaching is all about. Looked for ones at this park since it has been a favorite location of mine since I was a child. Found that the two that were her before have both been archived, so I jumped at the chance to set some new ones!

This bridge leads to an island that used to be the only inaccessible island in this park. I believe that was a good thing and was very upset when they built this bridge. Since this island was not accessible it was the home of a flock of Canadian geese that would migrate down each year and make there nest on the islands. It was a safe haven for them and was a big draw of this park. The little fluffy baby geese were the cutest and you could see them by the hundreds. Once they built the bridges the geese had a hard time keeping their neat from being disturbed. Oer the last 15 years they have nearly disappeared from this park all together. There are still a few that keep the best bushes full of eggs and I still get a kick out of watching the babies waddle around!
