One of the Cheltenham Circular Caching Challenge, a series of in excess of 100 caches of a variety of terrains and difficulties set around the Cheltenham Circular Footpath set by a variety of Cheltenham’s cachers
The Cheltenham Circular Challenge takes place annually around Cheltenham's Circular Footpath
The 26-ish mile route simply too good an opportunity so it now has over 100 caches, a challenge that could be done in a day or in sections.
To add to the fun of the distance and number of caches, various along the route have clues. The discovery of all of them will lead you to a puzzle cache somewhere in the Cheltenham urban area. There’s also a blend of terrain / difficulty ratings, container sizes and one each of the caching types to add to the fun. The trail starts at Cheltenham Race Course with #1, and the caches are numbered clockwise. But you could of course start and stop anywhere along the path.
If you can't manage it in a day, then why not stay around the area. Cheltenham Borough Council have a tourist information office that will help you with a number of things, including accommodation.
This one is named after one of Cheltenham Town's longest serving players, Lee "Archie" Howells.
The cache is a micro film pod (amuiT's specimen pot was looking a little grotty) by the gate against the fence. Please replace so it is hidden properly.
It is an obvious cache 'n' dash. If you choose to do it as such, please beware that this is a major and therefore busy, route, park carefully and do not obstruct entrances or turning / slip roads. Ta!
