Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in one of Tenterfield’s oldest and largest public parks. Like most of Tenterfield - there's an interesting history to accompany the location:

1888: Tenterfield Park was proclaimed in 1888 - land comprising of 20 ha.
1913: Tenterfield Golf Club established a golf course on the site and with assistance from the council, cleared vegetation for fairways and leveled areas for greens. The greens were fenced to exclude stock, but stock was grazed on the rest of the park.
1928: The area lost its status as a public park and was managed by trustees of the Golf Club.
1934: The area was used predominantly for stock grazing, although it was used by the Army during the Second World War. Excavations in the area originate from this time, with the Park area used as a training camp and weapons range. Over the years Tenterfield Park has also been used as a gravel quarry and rubbish dump.
2004: Tenterfield Naturalists Inc. was formed and members took on the challenge of developing the top section of the Park as a focal point for local woodland flora and fauna. At this time the lower section of the Park was fenced by the Tenterfield Trail Riders Club, leased to the Tenterfield Pony Club and grazed by horses.
2006: The Tenterfield Pony Club relinquished their lease over the lower section and the Tenterfield Naturalists took over
the lease and management of the whole park area.
2007: The grazing of all domestic stock ceased on Tenterfield Park.

There's a short walking track that takes you through the different sections of the park.

You're looking for a small lock and lock container, with an unactivated Travel Bug as FTF prize. It's packed with swaps too. Be wary of snakes in the warmer months. A spoiler photo has been added to the gallery that will show you the  location of the cache, if you get stuck.
