Geocache Description:

You can find the cache (10x5x5cm) not far from the south-west side of the car park in front of the building Helikon Taverna but it is situated outside the parking place, so you can reach the cache from the Meredély Street not from the parking place. You don't need to enter the Helikon Taverna's territory. There is a suitable parking place just beside the cache. Please do not upload any pictures taken of the cache. Thank you in advance.

The Helikon Taverna is an aristocratic, more than 200 years old cellar of the Festetics Family.

The Helikon Taverna is situated the side of the Balaton Uplands National Park near to the forest of Keszthely hills. The Helikon Taverna (H-8314 Vonyarcvashegy, Helikon u 22.) on the northern site of the Lake Balaton from Budapest by car is less than two hours, from Keszthely 5km and from Hévíz 9km far away.

Being a jewel of the northern shore of the Lake Balaton in Zala County where the vineyards border the forest Helikon Taverna can be seen from quite distance. Count György Festetics had the present building built in 1819. The Helikon Taverna was completely restored and reopened its gates to the public in 2007. Its splendid panorama restaurant offers a view of the whole western basin of the Lake Balaton. Enjoy the sunset on the water from that historical place.

The Helikon Taverna for some years has been expanded three- (Helikon Taverna Hotel***), and four stars (Zenit Hotel Balaton****) hotel services.
