Geocache Description:

Well, this is an interesting one. I thought I registered this cache a couple of years ago. Apparently I got it confused with another one, Sunland, that started with an S and is in the same general area. Oops! I put the description for this in Sunland's and everything... silly me! I discovered my mistake while cross referencing the caches marked on my gps with the online map. So, we headed up the other day to make sure the cache is still there and it is!

So, this is the Shandro St. Mary's Russo Greek Orthodox Church The first service was held here on August 28, 1904. It is now a registered historic site.Very beautiful church and grounds, as well as the entrance gate, which was dedicated by Mrs. Pearl Hawrelak on August 28, 1980 in honor of the pioneers and in memory of her grandmother, Anastasia Shandro, who helped to select the site of the church.
