Geocache Description:

Ever go out searching for geocahes of any type and NOT find anything?

You would search and search for a good long time and still nothing??

You would get a stick in the eye, fall down a muddy hillside, get caught up in some barb wire, pick-up all kinds of hitch-hikers (burrs, ticks, chiggers, etc) and STILL NOT find anything???

You read the logs of other poor unfortunate visitors that did not find a particular cache and you would think: "I can find that" only to add your own sorry, miserable DNF log to the others.

Well, here's a TRIBUTE to all that misery; all those foriegn language words that you thought you never knew; all that time picking ticks off of your body; all that time battling a chigger infestation; recovering from cuts/bruises; getting rained on; getting snowed on; locking yourself out of your own vehicle; battling swarms of mosquitos, bees, wasps or other unforeseen critters; wondering why you even got interested in this silly game in the first palce; all those "odd" looks from muggles or explaining yourself to the police; etc; just to LOG A DNF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But why would anyone create a tribute to those nasty DNFs that mess up my "smiley" ratings???? Are you daft????? Yep - probably. DNFs get a bad rap and I wanted to do something to HONOR them, after all, without DNFs where would we be in the world??

As for the cache set-up, this is something that I came across in SE Kansas a while ago - thought that it was neat and would adopt something similar in our area. Also, there is a hiking medalion attached to the cache. The hiking medallion has a Geocaching # on it and is INTENDED to STAY with the cache - please log as DISCOVERED.

Cache is located off of Mallon Road in the Ogden, KS, area - you DO NOT need to enter Fort Riley Military Reservation nor need not cross any fences (especially government fences). Please be careful how you park, road can be somewhat busy (thus the reason for the "skull/crossbones" attribute).

Overhead cover may affect your GPS readings, so be prepared. Tried to be as accurate as possible with coordinates, a visitor should be able to walk directly to cache location.
