Another easy P/G with nearby side road for off highway parking. Use care here as traffic really flies along SR240' Riverland station siding was just to the west of here.
The Milwaukee Railroad Beverly Branch crossed the highway here on its way to the DOE Hanford Railroad. Many carloads of construction material was brought in during the building of the various nuclear reactors and support facilities. The branch line was removed when the Milwaukee Railroad was abandoned around 1980. The irony my dad liked to tell that long tainloads of material was brought in and the output from all this could be carried in a briefcase!
