Come one, come all! WE are hosting an event to try to lay the groundwork for a "new" and exciting group of cachers in NorthWest PA and NorthEast Ohio, namely the Shenango & Mahoning Valleys.
Several of us cachers in the area have noticed that there isnt a group really to represent "US" from the Shenango Valley in PA (Mercer/Lawrence/Crawford counties) or the Mahoning Valley in Ohio (Trumbul, Mahoning, Columbiana) and others. There is the PAGA in the Pittsburgh Area, the NeoGeo in the greater Cleveland Area, the NWPAGC in The Warren/Allegheny NationalForest/Erie area...but nothing for us around here. We hope to change that.
The event will be held at the Trail's End pavilion in the Mahaney Recreation area at Shenango Lake. There will be ample parking and picnic tables & grills as well! Please bring your trackables to trade & discover, a side dish to share & anything else you can think of. The event will start at around 9AM and run until 2PM officially. There will be some temporary caches, as well as permanent ones out there to find as well. There are bathrooms nearby, a boat launch, playgrounds, and LOTS of fishing available, so bring a pole or two if you want Also, I will bring a set of boards so we can play some cornhole too.
We are going to gauge interest in forming a caching group, so think of some ideas that we could do if you are interested (CITO, events, cache runs, a group name, etc.)
Hope to see you all there! More updates to come :) OH...I almost forgot...this event is open to EVERYONE!!! If you dont want to be in the group or anything, no problem, just come, hangout & talk cache!
