Geocache Description:

Man vs Wild Cache has been revived!!!
Konacoffee was the original owner of this cache which was published on 17 NOV 2007 and archived on 11 MAR 2012. We HAD to revive this cache because it's our favorite cache of all times. So here's our story:

We just started Geocaching in Aug 2011, which of course meant we were "deers staring into headlights". We bought a GPS and headed out for our first REAL cache. OH BOY is the best words to explain this adventure. We did some serious bushwacking down the gulch, back up the gulch and along side the gulch. Which of course NO bushwhacking was/is required, the trail leads right up to the cache. I was giggling the entire time, while hubby was in deep serious thought of how to get to the cache. We retraced our steps many times until we finally had to admit to each other, we had no idea what we were doing.

A few days later after learning some Geocaching skills, SHOULD HAVE WENT RIGHT, INSTEAD OF LEFT, we were going down the ropes, across the stream, opening the cache box and finding our first treasure by Qnir. We immediately became hooked on Geocaching!!

The below description, pictures and hint are from Konacoffee's original cache description. In fact... the ammo can and log book are the original ones too. We didn't want to take anything away from our first "real" geocache adventure. We hope everyone enjoys this adventure as much as we did. The trailhead begins next to a home so PLEASE respect their property. Begin the hike on the trailhead and not in their yard.

YIPPEEKAYAY Regos FTF!!!

A steep, muddy and unforgiving trail deep into a gulch....anyone interested?

MAN VS. WILD host, author and seasoned adventurer Bear Grylls began a lifetime of exploration at an early age. Bear grew up on the Isle of Wight, and as a young boy would go mountain climbing with his father. He served three years with the Special Air Service, a special forces unit of the British army. During his service, he broke his back in three places in a parachuting accident over Southern Africa. Despite the accident and severity of his injury, Bear went on in 1998 to become, at age 23, the youngest British climber to complete a summit and descent of Mount Everest. He has hosted the Discovery Channel's MAN VS. WILD, in which he strands himself in remote locations to demonstrate localized survival techniques, since November 2006.

Are you ready for your own Man vs. Wild adventure? As a fan of Bear’s show, I dream of being such an adventurer. As a geocacher, I can fulfill that dream on a slightly smaller scale. Come escape civilization and find adventure in my gulch! In this episode, Bear needs your help. He has left an ammo can hidden deep in the gulch and needs you to find it , sign the log, trade some swag and find your way back to civilization. It will be steep, muddy and wet. There are ropes to help you along your way-sometimes! There is a stream crossing involved and finally a short, but very muddy scramble up to the cache site. You could encounter pigs, hunters, other adventurers and other creatures at the bottom of the gulch. WARNING! Do not attempt if there has been a heavy recent rain-which occurs here often and please abort this mission if the stream is too high to safely cross. Bear is counting on you to help him with this quest, so good luck. GPS reception is very spotty down in the gulch, so please refer to the pictures and the hints before heading out. Have fun and be safe! Spray yourself with copious amounts of Bug Spray!
