Geocache Description:


This is the 6th puzzle in the neogeo585 puzzle series. The cache is not at the posted coordinates, you could park there but it would be a long walk.

I am not much of a sports fan. What I enjoy instead are the older comedians. Who now days has heard of Laurel and Hardy or Charlie Chaplin? I will bet that tomorrow the current crop of comedians will be less remembered than Groucho Marx. When I see a current comedian, such as Chris Rock, I try to see who they compare to from the past. Many of the present day comedians have drawn the style of their material from the past because their formula worked so well. I don’t care how much they borrow from the past because they still put a smile on my face and that is how comedy evolves, but I like to see why they constructed the jokes the way they did. The style is the thing. One has to ask why even the Three Stooges are making a comeback if it is not true. Before the recent Stooges movie the younger generation did not even know who they were. Their slapstick humor is timeless but even before them, who remembers the Keystone Cops? Their bumbling was a precedent that is hard to not credit.

Some of the comedians of today that I love are Gabriel Iglesia, Lewis Black, and Jon Stewart. I don’t care that there are not too many well-known partner comedians as in the past since they are hard to top. The partner comedians such as Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, the Marx brothers, Laurel and Hardy, and the Stooges are hard to compete with. The recent past though has given us many amazing comedians such as Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Rita Rudner, Jeff Foxworthy, Eddie Murphy, Jim Belushi and many more. Can you see any precedents in the prior comedians? Which are your favorite comedians of today?

Notes about this puzzle: This puzzle was hard to decide the difficulty for. I am starting low and will raise it if it is harder than I think. Some may solve it quick. The cache is a camoed film canister. Bring your own pen.
