Geocache Description:

(Original) A cookie tin located just off of Goffs Road between I-40 and a wash to the south. The cache is on high ground above the wash. It can hold trade items and trackables.

(Updated 6/14/13) The original cookie tin has since been replaced with something smaller by a passing cacher.

Truck/RV parking is available near the eastbound I-40 ramps, but the walk will be a bit longer.

Do not enter the wash when flooded.

Prior to 1931, Route 66 ran along what is now Goffs Road from Essex to Needles by way of Fenner and Goffs. In 1931, a shorter route was constructed from Essex to Needles bypassing Fenner and Goffs.

In 2011, San Bernadino County established County Route 66 along the original alignment of Route 66, including this pre-1931 alignment along Goffs Road.

Special thanks to Team Stevecat for the hard work they put into thie Route 66 cache series!

Congratulations to gadget113 on the FTF!
