This is an easy hike for all members of the family. You'll hike past the historic Montjoy Barn, the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden and then through the grasslands. This hike presents itself with a perfect landscape photo opportunity. Keep an eye out for all the different types of butterflies during the warmer months. Not to mention, you can see the Snowball Stand from the trail. What fun thing to do after hiking (in the summer months!).
Welcome to Elephant Feet! The location of this cache presents itself with a scenic view of the Davis Branch Stream. This stream eventually leads into the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, so it's a great opportunity to discuss the importance of stream clean ups :). Most children associate the roots of the Beech tree with "elephant feet." The bark is also notable due to it's smooth texture. In the fall, you can find the beech's tree really cool nuts, they're pyramidal in nature. Have a great time!!
