This short series begins on the Northern Tier Trail at Towar Rd and continues past a dog park, the East Lansing Aquatic center, through Abbot Park, past Ashton Lakes Park to the south, past Abbey Park to the North, and ends at the water tower. The distance from end to end is a little under 2 miles.
I used to have a larger cache in these woods, and kept it stocked only full of new toys. Unfortunately I think it was too tempting and I lost the container and swag to a cache thief. Hopefully this one is hidden better than that one was and will stick around a little longer. The cache is a small snapware container painted green about 15' or so from the sidewalk. I noticed poison ivy at the edges of these woods, but there is enough shade once you get under the tree cover that it shouldn't be an issue there. Just pick your spot of entry wisely.
