Jamgarovskiy Pond Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

alexthefox777: I think that's not quite a good idea to restore this cache.
On thursday, 24th of april 2014, my granddad passed away. And occasionally I discovered that the gates which are close to GZ of my cache belong to the morgue. Dead bodies are being carried out of the hospital regularly, and then they are moved in buses to the cemeteries or to the crematoriums. All this happens right in front of the place where the cache was hidden!
When I was hiding the container there, I only knew that the building nearby is a hospital. And I was lucky enough not to stumble upon one of those processions. I would've never discovered about the morgue and all those very "special" procedures carried out in that place if I didn't happen to accompany my grandpa in his final trip...
This is why I don't want to restore this cache. Apparently, the container was stolen and I don't care about it anymore. Thinking about this my cache makes me sad.
Hope you understand...

Geocache Description:

It’s the simple traditional microcache hidden not far from Jamgarovskiy Pond. It contains only a small pencil and a logbook. It’s also capable of storing some small items like coins and small GC-s. It’s also possible to get to the place where the cache is hidden by car, if you don’t want to waste your time by walking in the park.

Jamgarovskiy Park is used as a recreational area, which is well known for a long time to every muscovite living in NE district of Moscow for its nightingales breeding in coastal shrubbery. The pond is also visited by gulls, terns and other waterfowl birds.

Jamgarovskiy Pond is called like this in honor of Jamgarov brothers, who used to be a bankers in the beginning of XXth century. “Джамгаровы Братья” (Jamgarov Brothers) used to be a full-scale banking house well known during the times of Russian Empire. The brothers had the first landscaped cottages in this area.

BTW, on the eastern side of the pond there is a small bridge. There you can still find an alley which led to the unpreserved Jamgarov’s homestead, which obviously was destroyed in 1920th.

The decorative pond itself appeared during 1920-th as a result of creation a dam on river Ichka. Well, this is according to the maps of the 1930-th, where the pond is already shown. Other source tells that the pond has appeared in the early 1960th on the place where the sandpit was.

The landscaping of the pond’s shores and nearby areas took place in 1984. In the same time the beach was organized on the southern shore of the pond. But it’s not allowed to swim in the pond now. The full-scale reconstruction of the pond and nearby areas began in may 2011. It seems like it’s still in progress. While I was wondering there, I’ve noticed, that the work is hard. The recreational area grows bigger and spreads further. Workers are laying new roads made of bricks and plant the grass. Some heavy machinery’s taking care of the pond’s shores, cleaning it from rubbish. I guess sooner or later this park will be much bigger and better than we can see it today.
