Scrumpy
In ye olde England, scrumpy was a cider made by farm workers in the West Country who stole or ‘scrumped’ apples from the orchard. It can be dry or sweet but tends to have higher alcohol content more tannins than commercial cider. Scrumpy is more often produced by local small run cideries using traditional methods. If you’re a Scotch drinker, you'll probably like this one. Only the strongest cider apples are used to make Scrumpy which results in a cider which is strong and sharp, and incredibly rich in the flavours that can be sparkling or not. Once you acquire a taste for Scrumpy, nothing else will do!
