"Compact langs buiten en toch ruim genoeg vanbinnen", zo zal een verkoper ongetwijfeld de huisjes van de verscheidene zeeparken van Bredene aanprijzen. Historisch lijkt het echter eerder een logische stap in de verhuur van vakantieverblijven. De camping-sector in Bredene kent reeds een lange geschiedenis en het succes van de campings wordt aangetoond door de grote hoeveelheid en diversiteit ervan in Bredene. Waar het ooit begon met enkel tentjes en kleine tijdelijke caravans verdiende enkele decennia geleden de stacaravan een vaste stek: eigenlijk een huisje waar pro-forma nog wielen onder staan. De logische volgende stap is dan natuurlijk het weglaten van die wielen en weer naar baksteen over te stappen in een nieuwe park-vorm: het ontstaan van het park met vakantiewoningen. Zeewind II is zo'n park (de uitbreiding van Zeewind I) en al bij al mag het best gezien worden. Alleen is het spijtig dat men in plaats van bij te dragen aan de plaatselijke gemeenschap door bijvoorbeeld fiets- en wandelpaden doorheen het park te laten lopen, men er voor gekozen heeft om het park af te sluiten voor de buitenstaander. Daarom vind je deze cache aan de achterzijde van het park, makkelijk te vinden voor het getrainde oog van de cacher. Wie de regels niet al te nauw neemt, kan wat meer naar Westen te voet een ingang tot het park vinden en vandaar via de kleine wandelpaadjes (hou er rekening mee dat die wel eens doodlopen) zich een weg banen doorheen het park. Maar zoals gezegd - officieel is dit privé terrein, dus tenzij je te gast bent in het park, is het betreden op eigen risico!

"Compact on the outside, spacious inside", that's probably what a salesman would say when advertising the cottages of the various "Sea-parks" of Bredene. Historically however this just seems the logical step in the renting of holiday lodgings. The camping-sector of Bredene has a long history already and the success of the campings is proven by the large number and variety. Once it began with simple tents and small car-driven caravans, but several decades ago the "mobile home" made its entry. Although still fitted with a couple of wheels, those were more a formality for "legal" reasons than really mobile. Hence the logical next step of course was to leave out the wheels completely and move over to brick and mortar again in a new type of park: the park with holiday cottages was created. Zeewind II is such a park (and an extension of Zeewind I) and all-in-all it's not really bad. The only pity is that instead of opening up the park to the local community by for example having pedestrian or biking paths going through the park, the creators chose to close off the park to outsiders. That's why you will find this cache at the back of the park, easy to find for the trained eye of the cacher. Those not taking the rules too serious can find a bit to the West an entrance to the park. By foot you can then try to follow the small paths (sometimes dead-ends!) to dig your way through the park. But as said - officially this is private territory, so unless you are a guest of the park, any trespassing is at your own risk!
