1000 Steps
1000 Steps is de naam van één van de vele stranden / duikplekken op Bonaire. Het strand is gelegen nabij het zendstation van Radio Nederland. Het strand is genaamd naar de trap die naar het strand leidt.
1000 Steps is the name of one of the many beaches / diving spots on Bonaire. It is situated nearby the Radio Netherlands relay station. The name of the beach was derived from the stairway leading to it.
De trap heeft niet echt 1000 treden, het tellen laat ik echter aan uzelf over wanneer u deze cache bezoekt. Het aantal treden is geen problem voor goed getrainde mensen en jongeren, maar wanneer u de hele duikuitrusting mee moet sjouwen, voelt het zeker alsof u 1000 treden heeft belopen. Naast een fantastisch plekje om te snorkelen en te duiken, kunt u ook Klein Bonaire vanaf hier zien liggen. Tenslotte kunt u hier nu ook nog een cache vinden. Het uitzicht is zelfs nog beter vanaf hier!
The stairway is not really 1000 steps long, but you may count them yourself on your visit to this cache. No problem for well-trained and younger people, but when carrying all your diving gear, it definitely feels like a 1000 steps. Besides a perfect spot for snorkeling and diving, you can see Klein Bonaire from here. Finally, you might also want to visit the cache. The view is even better from there.
