How Well Do You Know Fredonia? Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sapience Trek: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

All the stages are in place! The puzzle coords will no longer be listed on this page. This cache will take you to notable places around Fredonia that you may or may not have been to before! See how many you've been to... and how much you know about those places.

I placed this for my dad's fiftieth birthday and for Father's Day. I had a lot of fun dragging him all over town trying to find it. It should take you between one to two hours, depending on muggle traffic, to find this cache. There are three TBs in the final to start with. Get 'em moving quick! This could also serve as a TB hotel only for people living in the area as this isn't exactly a quick find.

This multi will push your muggle-evading ability to the limits! Stages 1 and 2 will probably be the hardest. Please place EVERY container back EXACTLY as you found it. This will prevent people from accidentally finding them. You should still explore the areas you come to as there is a lot to be found. This cache is perfect if you plan on caching the village for the day as there are many caches located near each stage and along the way. There are five stages to this multi. Each will bring you to a spot in the village of Fredonia and quiz your knowledge of the place. Maybe you'll even learn something along the way or find a place you didn't know was there. All of the answers can be found at the cache site. I have given you the coordinates for the initial find. In that container, you will find the coordinates for the next one and so on, but here's the catch: all the numbers aren't there. You will need to answer questions I have listed below to find them. This will be like a common type of mystery cache. You just plug in the numbers you figure out for the letters I have substituted in place.

Stage 1 Questions: A:

What is the year on the bottom of the plaque in front of the building this cache was found in front of? A=the second number in the year.

B: What is the minimum number of babies that can be found in the northeast side of Barker Common at any given time? B=that number - the number of fountains in Barker Common. Do not count any drinking fountains.

C: What is the number of the Fredonia Grange? C=that number. (ex: Grange No. 14, 14 would be C).

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

Stage 2 Questions:

D: How many playing fields are located here? D=that number plus the number of "homes" found here. If the gates are closed, your satellite image GPS can be used.

E: What is the most amount of players that can be playing offensively at any given time on one of these fields? E=that number.

ATTENTION! USE THE PUZZLE COORDS N27 27.25E W079 20.22D AND NOT WHAT IS IN THE STAGE 2 CONTAINER. I WILL FIX THIS THERE AS SOON AS I CAN. Thanks to The Goonies 7 for pointing this out for me, sorry again.

Stage 3 Questions:

F: How many hands are around you if you were to exit the area you're in and take a few paces south? Oh, and don't forget to look up the hill. F=this number minus 5.

G: What is the year on the plaque underneath the eight hands that are together? G=F - the first number of the year

Stage 4 questions:

H:How many courts are at this location? H=that number. When the park is closed, your satellite image GPS can be used.

I: What is the number of the month that the entrance wall was built? I=that number - 9.

This stage is located inside a local park that closes seasonally and at dusk, though the court lights are on after dark, so I'm actually not sure about that.. You may have to find this container during the day though if indeed the park closes at dark. When it is closed seasonally, I will provide the coordinates you need to plug the numbers in as the container is located inside the park (N 42° 26.2I9 W 079° 20.H62). It is still possible to get the coordinates while the park is closed; you don't need to enter the park, but I strongly recommend it if it's open! Have fun finding the final! You've earned it.
