Geocache Description:

This bridge is parallel to the N2 bridge that crosses the Goukamma river. The name back-stab bridge comes from the thorns that will do exactly as called, if you are not carefull.

Long in planning, I decided to list this one after my recent round of exams.

The Goukamma river is a real gem if you have access by canoe. Just a bit lower down towards Buffalo Bay, you can rent a canoe and row on this beautifull river. You can row upstream or all the way to the river mouth. You need half a day and a good picnic lunch if you are adventurous. The cache need no canoe to access. Upstream there is a small golf course easily visible from the centre of the bridge. You will also see two of the railway bridges that carried the Outeniqua Tjoo Tjoe steam train to Knysna and back.

There is plenty of survey markers on the bridge, maybe one day I will look up the coordinates if you want to check your GPS accuracy.

I clipped away the thorns around to get to the cache, but still watch your back and eyes! Serious. I have access to my internals via quite a few holes poked while clipping the pesky bits away. You will need to get on your knees. If there is new thorns, please clip them off for safety, but don't trim the bushes that is not overgrowing the bridge.

The container is too small to hold much.
Park at either end of the bridge. The area is safe and the bridge seldom used. Don't park on the bridge though or you may find an annoyed logging trucker honking at you.
