Of the 4 main elements (water, earth, fire, air); water is mandatory to bring to this cache to retrieve it. Do not attempt to retrieve the cache without water (8oz is plenty)
If sensitive to scratches, I would bring long pants, long sleeves, and gloves. Some blackberry bushes are in the vicinity, but can be avoided which trying to access the cache. A hidden cup is close if you forget water. I would choose accessing water from the lake, not stream for it is more conspicuous. Rangers will get upset if you access the Alameda creek.
