DURHAM AREA GEOCACHERS presents:
THE 100 CONSECUTIVE DAY CHALLENGE
This cache is a consecutive day challenge cache, only to be found once you have found a geocache on 100 consecutive days. The cache IS at the posted co-ordinates.
Finding a cache on 100 consecutive days is easier said than done. You have to find a cache despite weather conditions, despite work schedules, despite DNF's and despite health issues. You need to manage your local finds that you don't clear an area right out, in case you need one to continue the streak. And after a while, the streak then seems to be like work, rather than for the sheer enjoyment of geocaching as a passtime.
But, it can be done. This cache is dedicated to those that have persevered and done a streak of this magnitude.
The difficulty rating on this cache refers to the difficult nature of finding a cache on 100 consecutive days. The actual hide is not as difficult. The terrain rating reflects the terrain for the hide itself.
Rules:
1) This cache can be found on the 100th consecutive day, but does not count towards the streak. You must find a cache on the 100th day prior to this one.
2) Due to the nature of this cache, all streaks - whether past, current or future - are valid. That means that some geocachers are instantly eligible at publication.
3) Caches must be logged as found on the date that they were physically located and signed. No back-dating of finds to fit the streak.
4) Proof of the streak must be presented in order to log this cache. If you have statistics enabled on your profile, you simply need to state it so that I can check your profile for the streak. If not enabled, then you need to find some other verifiable proof in terms of a bookmark list etc.
5) If you physically find this cache while not being yet eligible, you can sign the log book and post on the cache page a "Note" of located. Once you become eligible, you can add a new "found it" log on the date you qualify without having to go back to the cache.
6) Inelligible "found it" logs will be deleted.
And not wanting to put out a challenge that we ourselves didn't qualify for, we began a consecutive day streak on March 8th, 2012 and hit 100 days on June 15th 2012. Our streak finally ended July 2nd at 117 days.
*****Congratulations to En Sabah Nur on his FTF*****
