Geocache Description:

DUE TO EXTENSIVE FLOOD DAMAGE IN THE AREA THE CACHE ORIGINAL LOCATION HAS BEEN MOVED.

The nearby Harvie Passage was created to provide a safer route over the weir.  The weir is in place to divert water to the Western Irrigation Canal and in the past was called the drowning machine because of the wave below the weir that kept objects rotating around and not moving downstream.  The new design provides both a Class 2  and Class 3 rapid adventure, as well as a portage route  Enjoy this unique view of the river as the kayakers play in the waves.
