Geocache Description:

No visit to the Galápagos is complete without a trip to the Post Office Barrel on Floreana Island. This system has been in use for over 200 years as a way for travelers to send correspondence all over the world - - hand-delivered by other travelers. Listen closely to your naturalist to hear all about its incredible history.

This one's hidden quite simply because you won't have much time! Reach inside the barrel and feel along the top of the front wall. When you replace it, please replace it high enough that it doesn't get knocked down by the next group removing the big bags of postcards.

Bring your own pen or pencil. If cachers are reporting that the log is more than half-full, please print a replacement log before your voyage and bring it with you. Film canister-size rolled up paper is best. Because this is Galápagos, be extra sure to follow all park rules while caching.

Because you're traveling with a group, muggles are inevitable. What an opportunity to explain geocaching! If they want to sign the log, please let them, as long as they promise to become premium members of as soon as they return home!

Please post a picture of you with the cache, the barrel, and your postcards! If you're sending your postcards to the US, here's a tip: Write out the entire name of the state you're sending it to. Don't make your Ecuadorian guide try and remember the postal abbreviation. Also, don't forget to put a date on your postcard. It's always fun to see how long it takes.
