Der Karolinenpark Ruhla.

Zu DDR Zeiten befand sie hier eine Industrieanlage, die VEB Elektroinstallation Ruhla (ERU). Der Produktionsschwerpunkt der zeitweise über 800 Beschäftigten lag auf der Fertigung von elektrischem Installationsmaterial für Gebäude- und Haustechnik, Schalter und Steckdosen.

Nachdem dieser Gebäudekomplex -wie so vieles in Ruhla- abgerissen war, entschied man sich eine Parkanlage anzulegen.
