Freemasonry itself is a fraternal organization which is by many considered deeply mysterious, not least due to many books and movies reinforcing these beliefs. Leaving these legends aside, according to some, Freemasonry dates back to, and beyond, the year 1390 when the first masonic text, Regius Manuscript, appeared. The first Masonic lodges were in fact formed in Scotland in the 16 century and the first Grand Lodge, The Grand Lodge of England, was formed in 1717, followed by The Grand Lodge of Ireland and The Grand Lodge of Scotland in 1725 and 1736 respectively. During colonization, the Freemasonry got to the United States where, however, no Grand Lodge exists.
Currently, the organization is believed to have about 6 million members distributed between various Lodges. A Lodge itself is the basic organizational unit of Freemasonary, which holds meetings, manages its property, elects its members and officers and deals with the day-to-day issues of the organization. There is no universal body governing the organization as a whole, and as a result, the local Lodges and Grand Lodges (where applicable) are sovereign bodies each governing its jurisdiction based only on mutual recognition.
The building of the Freemasons' Hall that inspired this cache has been built in the art deco style between 1927 and 1933 as the third Masonic building to stand in this place, and it was designed by the architects Henry Victor Ashley and Francis Winton Newman. It covers 2.25 acres and is currently listed as a Grade 2 building. Inside you can find The Library and Museum of Freemasonry which are open to public free of charge. In addition, the Grand Temple itself can also be visited during one of the tours which take place up to five times a day. For more information about the building, history, or Masonry itself, see the homepage of the United Grand Lodge of England
And now to the cache itself. In order to find it, you need to solve the following:
Although it's probably not really necessary, you can check your solution here:
You are looking for a magnetic container similar in size to the 35mm cannister, which is only accessible between dawn and dusk. Please, bring your own pen.
Congratulations to Plasadda for being the First To Solve and Loony Londo for being the First To Find.
