This cache is part of the Pvt. George Shannon Trail caches that will lead you throughout Northeastern Nebraska. Pvt. Shannon became lost near here while traveling with Lewis and Clark and the Corp of Discovery in 1804.
Later in life George Shannon studied law and became a lawyer and a senator from Missouri. He died suddenly in court at Palmyra, Mo in 1836, at the age of 49. He is buried in an unmarked grave in the Massie Mill Cemetery.
This micro is one of those containers that is bigger than a micro but not big enough to be a small.
