Geocache Description:

Welcome to Ridgeville!  Ridgeville actually started about 2 miles north of the present day site on where the Ridgeville Colony is and across the road.  The railway ended up coming further south and thus the village of Ridgeville grew on this site.  At one time it had 3 stores, a hotel and several garages.  The building next door to the Ridgeville Co-op Community Club was one of them but it came to its demise when the roof blew off in a tornado on July 1, 1965 and has been vacant since then.  There was a hotel across the street.  The owner became disgruntled with some of the locals, picked up his hotel and moved it to the corner of Hwys. 201 and 59.  Local Ridgeville people banded together, got a special license and bult the Ridgeville Co-op Community Club which has served the community for over 25 years.  It is a restaurant, bar, community gathering place where you can enjoy a meal, play Cribbage or pool or have a cool one on a hot day.  Kids are welcome too.  We have a Post Office, Hardware Store, garage/car dealership, a community hall and baseball diamonds.  Although not a lot of businesses nor residents, Ridgeville has a lot of heart.

You have had your history lesson for the day.  Now go find the cache!  It has been placed with the owner's permission.  Contains log and a few small tradable items.  Bring your own pen.  It should be winter friendly.  Also included is a FTF certificate for a beverage of your choice at The Club.

Congratulations to jean deniche and klblue on being the FTF! Although there is an onsite hint that you just have to recognize, there have been quite a few DNF's so we've decided to add a hint. Hope it helps!
