Singla

Singla er en liten gård med to nedlagte bruk helt sørøst på Arnøya. Stedet finner vi første gang nevnt i 1772 da det bodde én oppsitter her. Gården ligger sørvendt med tidlig vår og var i sin tid en veldrevet gård. Den dyrkede jorda var ei lang, smal stripe langs Kågsundet. Da veien mellom Lauksundskaret og Arnøyhamn ble bygd i 1969-70, beslagla den imidlertid rundt halvparten av det dyrkede arealet i det brattlendte terrenget.

Husene på Singla er de eneste bygningene på Arnøya som ble spart av tyskerne da de høsten 1944 benyttet "den brente jords taktikk" i et forsøk på å holde på okkupasjonen av Norge. Grunnen var at stedet hadde ei fyrlykt (Kågsund lykt) som var viktig for skipstrafikken langs hovedleia.
Oppdatering 2019: Stedet er ikke lenger bebodd.

Cachen er en plastboks med følgende opprinnelig innhold: Loggbok, blyant, FTF-sertifikat og et par bytte-viskelær.

Singla is a small farm at the southeastern part of Arnøya. The farm is south facing with early spring and was once a well-managed farm. The cultivated land was a long, narrow strip along Kågsundet. The road between Lauksundskaret and Arnøyhamn was constructed in 1969-70, and seized around half of the cultivated land in the steep terrain.

The houses at Singla are the only buildings on Arnøya that were spared by the Germans in autumn 1944 when they destroyed most of buildings in Finnmark and the northern part of Troms county. The reason was that the place had a lighthouse (Kågsund lykt) that was important for the ship traffic along the main ship's channel.

The cache is a plastic box. It contains initially log book, pencil, FTF certificate and a couple of erasers for trading.
