The Mid Atlantic Road Racing Series is coming back to Nelson Ledges. This promises to be a fun weekend with big race groups and close racing. Last time we had over 200 cars. You get the chance to geocache and watch racing from various parts of the track. Just be sure to obey track officials and do not go beyond any fencing. Caches are located in safe spectator areas. There is no need to climb a fence or get close to the track at any time.
Caches will be of a variety of hides from micros to full size caches. The difficulty will vary too!!!
Its a chance to get in the track for free and watch the cars go around. When coming to the gate, make sure you tell whoever may be there that you are with the Geocaching group. And you're welcome to come on Saturday and camp overnight if you wish. Please no firearms or pyrotechnics.
We will be having a potluck dinner as well. Bring your favorite dish. The Geoevent will start at 11am and run to 4:00 p.m. Afterward you are invited to stick around enjoy the racing! We will have hot dogs, hamburgers and soda or water on ice.
There will be several temporary caches placed around various parts of the track. Some may be easy and some may be hard to find. You can log the temporary caches on the main cache page along with the name of the find. Last year I placed 35 caches. Be sure to log the Mazda Travel Bug and the two permanent caches that are at the track.
