History: The idea for Palm Harbor Library began as a vision in the mind of Jeannette Malouf as early as 1978. Books that had at one time been stored in the trunk of Ms. Malouf’s car were moved into one small room of a home located at 1205 Omaha Ave. When the number of books outgrew the amount of space available in that one room, the library was moved to the Palm Harbor United Methodist Church which was then located on the corner of Omaha Circle and 12th Street. The library building was finally constructed at its current location - 2330 Nebraska Avenue - in 1988. Since then, the library has been enlarged and also renovated. The library now has more than 33,400 members and over 125,300 items It serves as the cultural center for the residents of Palm Harbor and surrounding communities.

MC1 consists of a small trading cache located inside the library. It was created by hollowing out the center of a donated book to create a “safe.” The opening is large enough to hold small treasures.

Included with the small treasures initially is a Travel Flower.
