Finding this cache will bring you to not only one of the most awesome views of Kansas City looking south from the GZ, but also one of (if not THE) absolutely coolest, most stunning, and amazing structures in the entire city!
Construction began on this wonderful site in October, 2006, and was completed in the Fall of 2011. This facility encompasses nearly 285,000 sq ft of glass, steel cables, and concrete to create an incredible, world-class design and state-of-the-art technology in both construction and design. It houses two performance halls, with unmatched audio and visual capabilities. The total cost for this facility was $415 million, none of which was from public funds (other than the $47 million parking structure). And this parking structure even sings to you!
I absolutely love this site, and I hope you will too, which is why I wanted to bring you here! Take some time to enjoy the view, both of Kansas City to the south, and this awesome achievement to the north.
When searching for this cache, please PLEASE do NOT walk on the grass - you do not need to step on the grass to retrieve this cache. Did I mention DO NOT STEP ON THE GRASS? Location is fully wheelchair accessible, and please use stealth when finding and replacing this one so that others may continue to enjoy it. Street parking is available nearby, but it can be a short hike to GZ, depending on your approach. Carefully camouflaged container is small, with room for coins or a few very small swag items, so bring your own writing stick. My GPSr bounced around a bit at GZ I think due to metal nearby, but coords were averaged over several days' results.
FTF will be rewarded with an unactivated US Flag travel bug, a way cool KCGO annual picnic pathtag, and a fresh, clean log.
So come and find this one, and while you're here look both to the north and south and appreciate the Simply Stunning views! I hope you'll appreciate them as much as I do.
On a sentimental side-note, I actually worked at this site years ago when there was another structure there and a nationally known cash register company - can you guess what that was? And do you remember it here?
Congrats to Captainmath and Folboter JAF for FTF! And serena_gale for grabbing a close second!
