Bruce County has many Rail Trails in the county and this one is located just outside the town of Port Elgin and runs through to Bruce Power Nuclear Facility. This trail continues from the Saugeen Shores Rail Trail where I have placed several caches going the other way from where you are now.
This is a multi use trail with a separate ATV trail beside it. This part has loose gravel to travel on, so good running shoes or hiking boots would be appropriate here. If you want to try to bike or an easier walk, try using the ATV trail to the side, but keep an ear for the ATVs which won't be difficult as they are loud.
I have placed a cache approximately every 200 meters along this trail were there were no previous caches. Maneau and Tribal Dancer have already placed caches along this part and I just filled in between theres.
There are several different sizes from small, just holding a log to larger ones that you can leave and take things from. All are within 20 feet of the trail.
This is the first cache placed hence the number. This could be your first cache if you parked nearby.
Cache container is a small cylinder with a log only.
