This cache has been archived.

Landondena: Thanks to all those you attended. A big Thanks to Lyn Liming who helped guide me through setting up the event and bringing the coolers, brownies, and hardware. Again thanks for spending some time starring at the sky versus at our GPSr's.

Geocache Description:

Ever gaze up at the heavens and ponder the wonders of the night sky?  Envision what celelesteral formations are evolving with our solar system?  Ponder the light displays of distance Nebula?  Join up with us at Stone Lick Lake and see for yourself the beauty of  our Universe.

Where: Stone Lick Lake

When: August 18th 8:00 pm, dusk is at 8:28pm

Food/Drink: Since there is no shelter, we will setup a table for pot luck for light snacks and drinks!

Weather: Conditions will play heavy upon our ability to see.  If the weather conditions look bad for the event it will be postpone to the following Saturday. Please watch the cache page, I will post updates as the date nears.

Rules: Due to the nature of the event.  We have a couple guidelines.

  • PLEASE park at the parking coords, if you arrive after dark do not drive towards the lake and near the event itself.  Headlights will contract the groups pupils reducing their night vision.
  • PLEASE use low power flash lights, if possible use red lights.  Same as head lights flash lights shining in eyes will contract the pupil, red lights don't effect this vision as much and are deemed acceptable.
