Geocache Description:

Its being called an environmental miracle - This is a cache in keeping with the theme of the park.

The brand new Waterford ecopark is open!  Reclaimed from the old city Landfill!

The park can be used in a wide variety of ways as it includes walking routes, play equipment, exercise spaces, nature trails, integrated wetlands, wildflower meadows and wildlife areas. It has a two kilometre walkway as well as a series of paths which traverse the park. The paths are a mixture of tarmacadam, as well as paths mown through the meadows, which will allow children to interact closely with nature. Stones collected in the park have been used to construct low stone walls which created small fields, which were then planted with flower and meadow seeds which in turn have become home to a variety of insects and butterflies.

This cache is away from all exercise equipment, and any of the man-made features in the park. It is placed with the full knowledge of Waterford City Council who welcome walkers / runners / cyclists and now geocachers to the park. All that is asked is that everybody respects the park, which of course we all know any of us Geocachers will do.

This is the second of hopefully 3 Caches in the park, all 3 are in keeping with the theme of the park - in otherwords looking for a tupperware container in a natural environment like this won't do you much good! Please replace the back of the cache securely!

I'd like to acknowledge the Environmental office in Waterford City Council for their wonderful work here, and their welcoming attitude towards geocachers - you know who you are guys!
