This cache was originally a multi-cache sited by Lordhutton in May 2006 and I am sure that many cachers enjoyed the cache. However eventually when I got round to tackling it, the Teignbridge District Council sign displaying the necessary information for the cache final coords had been removed by the developers in April 2012 in preparation of building a supermarket, and the cache was then archived. Lordhutton has kindly agreed for me to resurrect his cache, albeit in a slightly different guise! The TDC sign gave information that along with buried glass and timber, 4 elements were known to pollute the area being arsenic, boron, zinc and sulphate.
As before it is a short walk from a busy parking area to somewhere much nicer, with a possible extension to a village pub - which surely can’t be bad, can it?! The given coords are for parking near the Broadmeadow Sports Centre and nearby new supermarket.
The coords for the cache are at: N50 Li Li. He O Be W003 Li H. He Li O (these are NOT ZEROs)
To get to the cache go up the steps beside the Sports Centre up to the footpath sign and soon you will enter a peaceful world of quiet meadows. The footpath can be a bit overgrown and it follows the curious half-buried iron pipe. THERE IS NO PEN/CIL IN THE CACHE = NO LOG = NO SMILEY!!! Just continue up the footpath past the cache site if you wish to walk a further mile to Bishopsteignton for a pub (closed afternoons) and a ruined palace that once belonged to the Bishop of Exeter. If you choose to do this, walk back via Ashill which is a delightful lane with no traffic (it says No Through Road: dont you believe it), and beautiful views over the River Teign: you will see Ashill on the way to the village.
Solution checker added 30.3.23, apologies for not loading it when setting up the cache page.
