Tramway Cache Traditional Cache

This cache is located close to an old tramway line that origionally ran from Track Cove, Virgin Arm to Parkview, then known as Dark Hole. Used as a means of transportation for everything including small boats, firewood, food supplies and even sick patients to be transported by boat from Boyd's Cove into Dark Hole, across "the neck" to Virgin Arm and on to Twillingate Hospital once again by boat. A short portion of the tramway and a replica of the old tram was restored as a historic site some years ago. A short cross-tie walk to the end of the line will take you to the cache. you may have to navigate around a large tree which has fallen across the tracks at one point. When placed the cache contained a few small trading items, Muggles seem to enjoy pilfering so now contains only log sheet and pencil. Take Parkview Rd, turn left on Park Lane, go to dead end, it's o.k. to park there. Co-ords for start of hike-- N 49 31.585 W 054 45.374 Note: If you're staying at the park just go through day park area and take tramway from there. If you want to take a real short cut just park at the Lions Club parking lot and make a bee line for it.
