Legenden om Gotland 4

Efter två månvarv började stammen undra vad som hade hänt med de resande, hade de råkat ut för bekymmer? Schamanen sa att de skulle hålla fest för att på så sätt kalla hem männens andar och hjälpa dem till den andra världen, det var viktigt tyckte alla.

Stammen jagade, fiskade, samlade rötter och örter samt grävde kokgropar för att förbereda festen. Men de hade också män som stod på kullarna, spanade och hoppades att de resande ännu skulle dyka upp vid horisonten.

ENGLISH:
After two moons the tribe was beginning to wonder what had happened to the travellers, had they gotten into trouble? The shaman said that they should hold a feast to call home the spirits of the men and help them over to the other world, which was very important to them all.

The tribe hunted, fished, collected roots and herbs plus dug large cooking pits to prepare for the feast. But they also had men posted on the hills, looking and hoping that the travellers would show at the horizon.
