My First ever placed cache, in one of my favourite spots to visit while over-nighting in Yellowknife. Niven lake is amazing in May and June, as there are hundreds of ducks and birds just.. hangin' out!
I think this is one of those spots that Yellowknifers may overlook or not visit often, but it's a great place to read a book or take some amazing wildlife photos. Despite the name, the breeze keeps the bugs down, and I'm always alone everytime I visit. I encourage you to take the trail all the way around the lake, as it is a beuatiful little walk.
Traditional Cache should be very easy to find, it's more about visiting the lake and having a quiet moment. Make sure to securely lodge it back to where it came from to keep it secure. A little prize for FTF, and as you may guess from the name.. It's severly bug infested.
