This cache is not accessible by land, you must use a boat to avoid the land around it because the lane that leads back there is private property. Cache is accessible by the river only. This cache received its name because while exploring a little bit before lunch we actually found a message in a bottle! It was pretty soggy but we could make out that it was written by a young lady getting ready to graduate high school in Owen county Indiana. Some of the older folks that are local to the area will know that this site has changed quite a bit over the years. The large body of water just on the other side of the rock wall is the site of the old Jones and Sons gravel pit. The huge flood in 2008 brought the height of this rock wall down considerably. When the river is up you can go straight over the wall into the old pit, when it's down it's accessible by a canal type of opening farther downstream. You are looking for a PVC screw top container. Pliers may be required to open the cache, it was screwed down as tight as it would go to prevent water from getting in. Cache is placed well above normal river height but in the event of a flood it might be under water. Natural swag is offered in the cache in the form of some geology samples picked from the gravel bar. A rock hound can have a good time here, several different rock types in a very small area. About the time we launched the canoe back downstream we realized we forgot to add a pen so you must bring your own.
