In the last month we have had many reasons for Celebration
-5yrs caching
-8Yrs married
-Our son turned 1 year old
Just to name a few. And several months ago we attended our First Chili Cookoff event, (http://coord.info/GC3CBWG) and won the cache-ready-to-go. Thanks for not hounding us on getting it out there, now we hope you enjoy it.
A good trail map can be found at http://www.co.ottawa.mi.us/ParksVI/Parks/pdf/Park_Maps/Trails_Pigeon_Cr.pdf This is a simple traditional cache, with a decent hike from parking. Be sure to take trail point15 towards point17 and the trail will take you within 50 feet of this cache. This is one of our favorite parks where we often came before geocaching, for biking, skiing and hiking. Then it got a whole new dimension when we found our first geocache here all those years ago. See http://coord.info/GCEB2B. Recently while gathering data for OpenStreetMaps we realized that we had never been down this (15-17) trail with a GPS (and debate whethere we had ever been down it at all) so we decided to come back and hike this 'new' trail, and take the opportunity to hide a good ol' fashioned cache too. We hope you enjoy this park as much as we have. Please follow the no hiking rule during the winter, try snowshoeing or skiing instead! Watch for horses on the trail, and while you can ride bikes on many of the offroad paths near here, this particular trail isn't really good for biking because of the horse traffic.
