Geocache Description:

This is the first of what will eventually be a number of Caches along a path leading from Port Sunlight, to Eastham Ferry. It is a nice easy cache to locate, so have fun finding it.

This small cache contains a trinket, pencil and log. It is situated on a pathway/ cycleroute, which was a former railway line supply route for the local factory. It was used to transport goods and supplies to and from the Port Sunlight harbour, back in the day. I have tried to do some inital research into the old railway line, without much success. The path is very flat and easy to get along. The route can be used to get to Eastham Country Park which is about 3 miles away and is a lovely place to stop for a picnic or other refreshments, with parking and toilets. It is popular with cyclists, walkers and runners, because it is so level. So be careful of the passing muggles! Access to the path can be found tucked away in the corner of a cobbled car park at the rear of the local Theatre. There is plenty of parking in Port Sunlight Village, which is in itself a beautiful place to visit.
