Geocache Description:

A cache and dash near Dingestow church and the Dingestow castle mound. Dingestow was once the site of a Norman Motte and Bailey sited to control this part of the Welsh Marches by the incoming Marcher Lords. It was later replaced by a larger, stone-built one, the site of which is the large rectangular mound to the west of the church. This was under construction in 1182 by Ranulf Poer, Sheriff of Herefordshire.

Why not visit www.castlewales.com/dingestow.html for more information about the Dingestow castle mound.... The cache is a small pot containing a logbook only ( as of 26th January 2013) please bring your own pen or pencil to sign log. There is no need to enter the churchyard to find this cache CONGRATULATIONS TO: Baby World Terrain FTF of this geocache.
