Geocache Description:

Dixieland Delight caches spotlight a variety of flowers found in our beautiful area.  Please note that you might not find a given flower type at a particular location.

The tulip is a flower that does not grow well in Georgia.  You often see them used for one season at the front of a subdivision but they seldom return.  The reason for this is the mild winter that Georgia offers.  The tulip requires a colder winter to allow sufficient time for germination.  Single tulips have six petals.  Tulips come in many colors and give gardens beautiful distinction.
