As a resident of the Puna area, I've picked some of my most favorite places to share with geocachers! I feel these each have a unique landscape or exceptional surroundings to make them a "MUST SEE" in my neck of the woods! Please enjoy the area and let me know if I can answer anything for you!!
This gorgeous beach cliff has wonderful views of the ocean. The waves crashing, the breezes blowing by... its one of our favorite places to just park and enjoy the paradise we live in!
Facilities include a picnic table and porta-potties! Watch out for falling coconuts!
Park hours are 7am to 9pm.

This is one of our tsunami sirens. The primary cause of malfunction of a tsunami siren on the islands are geckos who move into the electronics boxes and short them out! We live about 3 miles from this one, way out of the tsunami evacuation zone, but on the night of the Japan earthquake, this one woke us up at 10pm and continued to go off every hour until the tsunami hit us. I think you'd really have to sleep sound to sleep through one!
