Well, the cache isn't silver or a syrup jar. In fact, syrup has nothing to do with this cache.
Another stop on the Iowa River Cache Trail. It is accessible only by water. You will need a canoe or kayak. The best approach is to put in at the Alden Access (N 42 31.102, W 093 21.952), head downstream, pick up this cache and any others along the way, then float to the take-out point at the River Road Access (N 42 31.411, W 093 17.406), a river trip of about five miles. Fine print: Be advised that the river can be shallow at certain times of the year, making it difficult to navigate without hitting rocks or scraping bottom. Do not attempt via terra firma. You cannot reach the cache without crossing private property, except by water. Bring your own writing instrument. You will need footwear that you can climb with. If you are not comfortable with this type of cache, then don't go after it.
