This cache is fairly easy, but you'll have to park at the gravel lot by the Schmidt Center and dorm, then walk the back road (left fork) to the trail head for the Discovery Trail. Watch out for construction vehicles near the beginning. Smithsonian Environmental Research Center: Our trails and education grounds are open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9am to 4:30 pm. We are closed on Sundays and federal holidays.
The cache is a plastic container hidden off the trail.
