Geocache Description:

The Lowcountry of South Carolina is Gullah country. Part of Gullah culture is the belief in spirits or haints -- particularly the Boo Hag. The Hag sucks the breath out of her sleeping victims. If a victim should awake while "bein' riddin,'" the Hag steals the skin. Legend has it that the only way to avoid "bein' riddin'" is to sleep with a broom nearby as Hags get distracted by counting the individual straws.

In homage to the Boo Hag, we recommend that you seek this cache at night. The cache will illuminate by flashlight or other light sources. You are looking for a part of the Hag's victim. This area is home to our slithery friends (snakes). Please be careful. Watch out for traces of poison ivy as well.
