Geocache Description:

In honor of my son’s fascination, and incredibly vast knowledge of prehistoric animals (you might even call it an obsession), I have created this series of dinosaur caches.  My goal is to eventually place a cache for a dinosaur of each letter of the alphabet. Yep, there are dinosaurs that start with the letters X,Y, & Z.

The Deinonychus was a theropod dinosaur that lived in the early Cretaceous period. While most deinonychus fossils have been found in the northwestern United States, some have been found as far east as Maryland. The name deinonychus means “terrible claw”, which describes its large, sickle-like talon on its hind foot that was used to take down its prey.

This cache is hidden in Forest Glen Park. There is a small parking lot next to the basketball courts that you can park in. At times you must be careful of the muggles. The cache you are looking for is a small micro container. It only contains a log so BYOP. The coordinates will not take you to the cache, but rather to the parking lot that I mentioned. You must first solve this puzzle to find the coordinates.

You can follow this link to print out a puzzle grid. http://www.radroadtrips.com/images/logicGrid4x4.gif

Use the following clues to solve the Logic Puzzle:
1. Of the Abelisaurus and Carnotaurus, one eats in the morning and the other eats Chasmosaurus
2. The carnivore that lives in the desert eats apataosaurus
3. Either the carnivore that eats in the evening or at night eats Chasmosaurus
4. The carnivore that lives in the forest eats earlier than the Carnotaurus
5. The carnivore that lives by the pond eats later in the day than the Deinonychus
6. The carnivore that lives in the desert is the Dilong
7. The carnivore that eats at night is not the Carnotaurus
8. The carnivore that eats Lambeosaurus is not the Abelisaurus
9. The carnivore that lives in the mountains does not eat Minmi

Deinonychus = 1
Carnotaurus = 2
Dilong = 3
Abelisaurus = 4

Final coordinates are:

N 39 00.EFG
W 77 0D.ABC

A = the carnivore that eats Lambeosaurus minus 1
B = the carnivore that eats at night
C = the carnivore that eats in the afternoon minus 1
D = the carnivore that lives in the desert
E = the carnivore that eats in the morning times 2
F = the carnivore that eats Minmi
G = the carnivore that lives in the forest + the carnivore that lives at the pond + 2
